| Avirex Clothing |
Starting out as a brand for authentic leather bomber jackets, Avirex was found in 1975 by Jeff and Jacky Clyman and fashion designer, Frank Marchese.
Clyman had a love of flying and his father had received praise for an original leather bomber jacket, which helped Avirex brand get launched. Originally having started out as a small mail order line, Avirex spent 25 years as a supplier of combat aviation for the NASA Dryden Space Center and the United States Armed Forces. From the military supplier to the box office movies, Avirex started designing clothing for movies, such as Top Gun, Indiana Jones and Terminator.
In 2005, Avirex was acquired by Marc Ecko, since then the aviation inspired line has transformed to include a trendy sportswear collection as well as a line created for the urban market.
Avirex is a brand that has managed to cater to the government standards as well as provide the street wear needed for a growing hip hop world.
