Originally nothing more than shoe brand, Pastry has quickly become a force in the fashion industry with a vibrant line of footwear, bags and clothing.
Founded by sisters, Angela and Vanessa Simmons, nieces to Russell Simmons of the Phat Farm line, the young women chose to name the brand after a favorite dessert (as chronicled in the MTV series Run’s House).
Launched in 2007 with a small four shoe line called “Cake,” the young brand pulled in a large fan base. Pastry followed up with a line of low-top sneakers called “Fab Cookie” and a largely popular hi-top and boot collection in the following year.
From there the company branched out with a line of matching clothes and handbags before partnering with Innovative Fashion Group as they look to turn the Pastry brand into an international brand.
Pastry offers foiled denims, dresses, tops, and tracksuits. The label use materials such as satin, metallic mesh and French terry to create the eye catching ensembles offered.
The line recently added a collection of affordable handbags and, in coming years, Pastry plans to add a line of jewelry and high heels.
